Millions of years ago, before what we call ‘modern‘ man, an ancient race with high intelligence, advanced technology and aerospace capabilities lived on earth. Great earth catastrophis wiped out much of this race, mutated some and drove many more underground. While waiting out the effects of what an ancient nuclear war created on the surface, man went back to a more natural or should we say ‘simplistic‘ culture. By the time they once again surfaced to the earth or even came back from distance planets the Age of Man had changed. Knowledge was lost and the old technology was gone. Man had to start over, as they had done in previous Ages.
Today we still remain very ignorant of our past. Until 1847, almost nothing was known about fossils. Science ignored the study of ancient man. It was only through the Bible and traditions that the western world had any reference to these wonderous races. One such race was the race of Giants who were “in the earth in those days” of old.
H.P. Blavataksy in The Secret Doctrine points out to us references in the Bible and in our tradition about the Rephaim (Giants or the mighty ones), the spectres (Phantoms), the Nephilim (or the fallen ones). They are shown “as if identical, though they are all men, since the Bible calls them the primitive and the mighty ones” – e.g. Nimrod. These names, which belong by right only to the four preceding races and the earliest beginning of the Fifth, allude very clearly to the first two Phantom (astral) races; to the fallen one – the Third; and to the race of the Atlantean Giants – the Fourth, after which “men began to decrease in stature.”
Although science has come a long way since 1847, they, for their own reasons, have not shared this information with the world populace. We have been kept in the dark . Not only kept in the dark, but conditioned and trained through the educational system, media and peers to scoff and shut out alternative ideas about the history of man.
Gaea (giving Erichtonios to Athena in the presence of Cecrops) and Uranos. Cecrops was considered to be the founder of Greek civilization and the city of Athens. He was also credited with introducing writing, the custom of burial, marriage, monogamy, bloodless sacrifice and to have dedicated Athens Athena.
Cecrops was worshipped by Poseidon’s side in the southwest corner of the Erechteion on the Acropolis of Athens, and his tomb was believed to lay under the same temple. The Acropolis was called Cecropia and some peoples were named after him.
The ruling Gods during this time
These creatures could speak the local language and were friendly. They were called “Nommo”, meaning “the monitors”, and their home planet was in the Sirius system orbiting Emme Ya. The Nommo stayed on Earth for some time teaching.
They are described as having arms and legs but also a fish tail, that they breathed through 2 holes in their back, had a slimy skin, and pointed teeth. These holes however could have been some artificial breathing apparatus that they needed due to the fact that they could not breath our air. Dagon was the fish-god of the Philistines. Dagon was the founder of Sumerian, Babylonian, and Chinese civilizations. It was recorded by the ancient Greeks that the Babylonian civilization had been founded long before the great flood by amphibious beings called Oannes, Musari, or Annedoti. The latter names mean “abominations” and “repulsive ones”. Despite the names, these rulers were greatly loved and credited with providing us with all knowledge and learning and the founding of civilizations.
The monitorial duties of the Nommo may have included helping to save Noah by providing him with his Ark. The book of Enoch says the ark was built by the Angels or “watchers”. Some of these Watchers “fell to earth” (came from the sky) and became the gods of the olden times – best known to us from the Greek legends and the Indian Vedas.
Biblical names of the Giants
In chapter 15:18-21 they are enumerated and named among Canaanite Peoples: “Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, and the Amorites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites” (Genesis 15:19-21; compare Exodus 3:8,17; 23:23. Deuteronomy 7; 20:17. Joshua 12:8).
These were to be cut off, and driven out, and utterly destroyed (Deuteronomy 20:17. Joshua 3:10). But Israel failed in this (Joshua 13:13; 15:63; 16:10; 17:18. Judges 1:19,20,28,29,30-36; 2:1-5; 3:1-7).
As to their other names, they were called Anakim, from one Anak which came of the Nephilim (Numbers 13:22,33), and Rephaim, from Rapha, another notable one among them.
From Deuteronomy 2:10, they were known by some as Emim, and Horim, and Zamzummim (verse 20,21) and Avim, etc.
Homer’s Iliad is true
Again the same similarities in Sumerian and Babylonian Culture. Science is not infallible and many ideas they scoffed at have actually come true. For example, did you ever consider that Homer’s Iliad is true? Troy was considered a fantasy and science would not recognize that such a wondrous place such as this could have actually existed. Thanks to the determination in the late 1800’s of German-American archeologist, Professor Heinrich Schliemann, it was alas proved that the accounts of the Trojan War were indeed true. That Agamemnon, after his return from the Trojan War, was slain by his wife Clytemnestra, who in turn was murdered by her children, Orestes and Electra. While excavating in Troy, he had found in the treasure house of Priam an exquisitely wrought bronze vase bearing the inscription: From King Chronos of Atlantis. Ten years later, while wandering through the Louvre in Paris, he came across its mate, which had come to light in Tiahuanaca, on the South American continent.
Schliemann’s discovery validated the writings of H.P. Blavatsky, Isis Unveiled and The Secret Doctrine. Blavatsky wrote that the Trojan War coincided with the cycle of events described in the Mahabharata, and that Homer’s Iliad was but a copy of the Ramayana. Blavatsky’s work was in, her time, an outrage and was condemned by men of science and theology. I found it quite interesting however that both Hitler and Einstein studied her writings in depth. What were they looking for if not the hidden knowledge within these books.
Homer declared that Agamemnon and Clytemnestra had lived in Mycenae, and, according to Pausanius, they were buried there. Based on this information Schliemann began his excavations. In the hillside tombs he found a number of skeletons wearing golden crowns, masks and girdles, and a vast treasure house filled with golden ornaments which, he believed, had once adorned fair Helen of Troy. No longer was the Iliad regarded by scholars as mere fairytale!
After Schliemann, Professor Sayce of Oxford went further to suggest the word Tiryns come from an ancient pre-Aryan language spoken in the penisula before the Greeks arrived. Based on this new found history, we then come to realize also that these prehistoric settlers were called by the Greeks Pelasgians.
These people lived in the time of the building of the great Lion Gate of Mycenae, with a slab weight of a hundred tons, poised twenty feet above ground level. They were also the race that existed during the time of the building of the great hillside tombs of Mycenae with their 45 foot domes built without a keystone. The magnificent architects were equal to the pyramids in their grandeur. The excavations of Sir Arthur Evans in Crete proved that these early settlers belonged to a highly cultured race. We have evidence that they had built a road across the island upon which they travelled in wheeled chariots. Their palaces were equipped with bathrooms, running water, drainage systems, heating devices, and even elevators! Their artificers in ivory and bronze “wrought masterpieces which remain today among the world’s greatest works of art.”
Greek Creation story
According to Apollonius of Rhodes, he wrote in the Argonautica that the first being was the goddess Gaea (Eurynome, Terra), the daughter of Ocean or Oceanus. She is the Mother Goddess, ultimate Creator Goddess and Goddess of All Things.
Eurynome (Gaea) and Ophion (Uranus, Ouranos, Coelus) had fashioned the Cosmic Egg, which created the world such as the land, sea and heaven, and then populated with animals. Eurynome with her consort, Ophion, were the first to rule at Olympus, before they were displaced by the Titans, Rhea and Cronus.
Cronus fought with (Uranus) Ophion, while Rhea wrestled with (Gaea) Eurynome, and they were flung from heaven into the depth of the Ocean. Apollonius begins the myth, as one of the songs sang by Orpheus after the departure of the Argonauts from Iolcus. (Orpheus was the mythical bard who had joined Jason and the Argonauts in the Quest). Orpheus sang a song about how the world was originally cast in one single mould; the earth, sky and sea was all mixed up in this mould, until the mould was tore sunder from some internal turmoil within the Cosmic Egg. All of the sudden, the earth, sea and heaven were separated; mountains rose from the sea, while the sun and moon and stars travelled followed their path through the sky (something like the Big Bang).
Two of the earliest beings came into existence, during the creation of the world. One was named Eurynome, daughter of the Ocean (Oceanus), while her consort was named Ophion. Together they ruled the entire universe from Olympus.
But one day, the Titans Cronus and Rhea had violently displaced Ophion and Eurynome from Olympus. They had flung Ophion and Eurynome into the Ocean.
The primeval beings involved with the creation of the Universe
Before the beginning of the universe, there was nothing in existence until Chaos came into being. Out of the void, came Nyx (“Night”) and Erebus (“Darkness”). Also from Chaos – Eros (“Love”), Gaea (“Earth”) and Tartarus came into being. It was Eros that made it possible for propagation between two beings – to produce offspring.
By her brother Erebus, Nyx became mother of Aether (“Upper Air”) and Hemera (“Day”). This was the first sexual union. By herself, Nyx became mother of several abstract personifications: Thanatos (“Death”), Moros (“Doom”), Hypnos (“Sleep”), the Fates or Moerae and Nemesis. Gaea, by herself, bore Uranus (Sky), Ourea (Mountains) and Pontus (Sea). She is personification of earth, and the goddess of the earth. Gaea, also known as Gaia or Ge, but to the Romans, she was known as Terra Mater and Tellus. According to Diodorus Siculus, her name was also Titaea Gaea mated with her son Pontus and she became mother of two ancient sea-gods, Nereus and Phorcys, as well as Thaumas, Eurybia, and the sea monster Ceto.
Gaea married her other son, Uranus, and he became ruler of the universe. Gaea became the mother of the Titans, the Hecatoncheires (“Hundred-Handed”) and the Cyclops (“Wheel-eyed”). The birth of their children resulted in a war by the gods that lasted for generations.
The Hecatoncheires were three brothres named Briareus, Cottus and Gyges. They had hundred hands and fifty heads. Their gigantic size and their ugliness frightened their father, Uranus, who was ruler of the universe. Uranus threw his sons into Tartarus, the deepest region of the Underworld. This caused great pain to Gaea. When Gaea gave birth to another set of ugly, giant sons, the Cyclops who had a single eye in their foreheads, they were met with similar fates as their elder brothers. The Cyclopes were also imprisoned in Tartarus. According to Pausanius, ‘the walls of Tiryns were built by the Cyclopes’ and Euripides called the Plain of Argos the ‘Cyclopean Land.’ Only the Titans, who were fairer in looks, escaped the fates of imprisonment.
Cronus, the son of Gaea and Uranus, overthrew his father and became supreme ruler of the universe, but shared the rule with other Titans. During his rein, Cronus created mankind, which ws marked as an Era of the Golden Age. The most peaceful time of mankind. The Romans identified him as Saturn, the God of Agriculture and Fertility. Gaea had hoped that Cronus would release her sons who were imprisoned in Tartarus. Cronus refused to release them, so Gaea foretold that he would meet a similar fate as his father, being overthrown as he did by one of his sons. Cronus married his sister Rhea and was the father of Hestia, Poseidon, Hades, Demeter, Hera and Zeus. Rhea ws the daughter of Uranus and Gaea and a Titaness and Earth Goddess. According to Diodorus Siculus, Rhea’s other name was Pandora. She was identified as the goddess Ops and Magna Mater, Mother of the Olympians , fathered by Cronus, Hestia, Poseidon, Hades, Demeter, Hera and Zeus. According to the Orphic myth, after Zeus was born, her name was changed to Demeter. As Demeter, she was raped by her son Zeus, so that she gave birth to Persephone. In turn, Zeus would rape their daughter (Persephone) so that she became the mother of Dionysus, known to the Neoplatonists as Zagreus.
Dionysus wandered the world, going as far as India. As he travelled he taught people how to cultivate vine as well as how to make wine. Satyrs and nymphs accompanied him. His followers were known as Bacchants. His female followers were frequently known as Maenads.
When it was prophesied that Rhea and Cronus children would overthrow her brother/husband Cronus took steps to prevent it. As Rhea gave birth to each child, Cronus would take the infant and swallow the child. When her youngest son, Zeus was born, fearing that she would lose all her children, Rhea wrapped swaddling cloth around a stone and gave it to her husband. Cronus unwittingly swallowed the stone. Rhea secretly sends her son to Crete, where Zeus was brought up by mountain nymphs and the Curetes. She later helped Zeus, after he reached adulthood, to force her husband to free her other children. Rhea and her mother (Gaea) provided emetic to the Oceanid Metis, Zeus’ first wife. Metis had served the emetic Cronus with his drink, so that Cronus would regurgitate the five children he had originally swallowed.
War broke out between the Titans and the sons of Cronus, known as the Olympians. The Olympians were the younger gods, led by the younger brother Zeus. The Cyclopes, renowned for their skills in building and working with meta, made magnificent weapons for the Olympians, the younger gods who warred upon the Titans. They made the thunderbolts for Zeus, a trident for Poseidon and the Cap of Invisibility for Hades. The Titans and Olympians were evenly matched, until Zeus released the Hecatoncheires from Tartarus.
With the help of the Hecatoncheires, Zeus and his brothers were able to throw Cronus and the other male Titans into prison. Zeus then set the Hecatoncheires to watch and guard over them imprisoned in Tartarus. Thanks to their help, the Cyclopes earned their freedom to the Olympians and normally worked with Hephaestus, the god of fire and metalworking, under the Mountain or Island of Lemnos.
This is the story of the primeval beings that first came into existence with the beginning of time, and who were involved with the creation of the universe.
Our belief structure today consists of a ‘if you can’t touch it, feel it or smell it, it doesn’t exist’ mindset. We, because of our conditioning through education and media, we are content in believing we came from ‘monkeys’. The Greeks however veiwed things differently and proudly traced their lineage to the Gods. These gods were divided into three distinct classes: the Immortals, who dwelt on Mount Olympus; the inferior gods, who animated Nature; and the demi-gods, half mortal and half immortal.
The Gods of Olympus may be regarded in seven different ways. The meaning of the myths depends on the personification of the gods, which may be any of the following: of the noumena of the intelligent Powers of nature; of Cosmic Forces; of celestial bodies; of self-conscious gods; of psychic and spiritual powers; of Divine Kings on earth; and finally, as actual historical characters. A historical character that was seen as a god , for example, was Odin. Odin’s lineage can be traced through the Tribe of Dann and we can show his travels even into the Mayan Traditions. Other examples of demi-gods:
Aeneus — Founder of Roman People — Son of a trojan prince and Venus.
Bellerophon — Rescued people from Chimera — The Chimera would creep into the villages at night and kill all of the people. He turned to the Oracle of advice and was told he must ride the winged horse Pegasus.
Chiron — Wise centaur — Sometimes known as the King of the Centaurs, who taught a number of Greek heros. He turned himself into a horse to deceive his spoise, Rhea, in order ot go make love to Philyra. He is also known for his great wisdom and kindness.
Deadalus — Inventor — Designer of the labyrinth originally built for King Minos. He was one of the few to escape from it. Father of Icarus and represents inventiveness and craftsmanship.
Hercules — Fought off creatures at a young age. At a time he was insane and killed his own wife and children. He had to do 12 labors impossible for ordinary men.
Jason and the Argonauts — In order to win the throne of Iolcus back from his uncle, Jason had to travel afar and find the Golden Fleece. He had a ship built, the Argo.
Meleager — Famous Epigrammatist — He wrote 130 small sayings and compiled others into an anthology known as The Garland.
Odysseus — Hero of the Iliad and Odyssey — King of Ithaca during Trojan war and led the Greek armies. Designed the Trojan horse.
Oedipus — Oracle predicted that he would kill his father Laius, so his father left him on a mountain. A shepherd saved him and he fulfilled the prophecy and married his mother.
Perseus — Killed Medusa. Was given gifts of the gods of winged sandals, a shining shield, a magic sword, and the helmet of Hades.
Prometheus — Creator of humans and giver of fire — Given the task of repopulating the Earth after all living creatures had perished from the earlier battles of the gods.
Theseus — Killed the Minotaur — Using a sword and ball of thread, he found his way out of the labyrinth.
The Evolution of Mortal Man
In the book Living in the Light there are Four Ages of man and his evolution described, from the Gold Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. In The Secret Doctrine, H.P. Blavatsky provides a detailed description of these Ages.
The Golden Age was the period when the First Race lived in the “Sacred Imperishable Land” which capped the North Pole. The forms of this Race were ethereal. They could walk, run, fly, and see objects at a distance. They were sexless and the principle of Karma had not yet been developed.
The Silver Age occupied the Hyperborean Continent. The Greeks called it the “land of the gods,” for it was the favorite abode of Apollo, the god of light, and its inhabitants were his beloved priests. The story of this Race is contained in the myth of Uranos, the King of the Second Continent. He personified the creative forces of nature, while his wife Gaea represented matter, the basis of all forms. According to the legend, Uranos produced giants and nymphs from drops of his own blood, suggesting the method of reproduction in this Race. When the new gods arrived, they began experimenting on the creation of mankind, creating the new age.
The Bronze Age was inhabitied by the Third Race of Man in Lemuria. This Race was itself divided into three periods. The early Lemurians were sexless, producing their young by exuding drops of vital fluid, which formed an egg-shaped ball. The myth of Leda, whose twin sons were gestated in an egg, refers to this early method of procreation. Then came a cycle of bisexuality. Plato gives us a description of the Third Race at this point of its evolution. “Our nature of old,” he wrote, “was not the same as it now is. It was then androgynous. Our bodies were round, and the manner of their running was circular. Hence Zeus divided them into two.” Finally mankind became male and female, and since that time the reincarnating Ego has depended upon the union of the sexes for the production of its physical vehicle.
The Iron Age ends the cycle.
At the beginning of the Fourth Round on this globe, every class of being was one-eyed. The “one-eyed Cyclops” of Greek mythology, those giants fabled as sons of Coelus and Terra, three in number, represented the last three sub-races of the Lemurians, for the two front eyes, as physical organs, did not appear until the beginning of the Fourth Race. The myth of Ulysses, who visited the cave of the Cyclops Polyphemus and destroyed his vision by means of a fire-brand, symbolizes the atrophy of the “third eye.”
The adventure of Ulysses with the pastoral Cyclops, a giant race, is an allegorical record of the gradual passing of the Cyclopean civilization of stone and gigantic buildings to the more physical and sensuous culture of the Atlanteans, which finally caused the “eye of wisdom” to disappear. In the middle of the Third Race, the “lighting up of Manas” occurred. At the beginning of our evolution, the Monad (the “vivifying agent” present in every atom in the universe) had been plunged first into the lowest form of matter, the mineral. Gradually, by the passage of the Life Wave through the vegetable and animal kingdoms, a superior form was evolved — ready at last for the Host of Manasaputra whose destiny it was to incarnate upon this globe. Some of these mindless human forms were neither ready nor suitable for occupancy and remained destitute of higher knowledge until the Fourth Race. Into those forms which were half ready, a spark of intelligence was infused. Into those forms which were ready, the “Lords of the Flame” entered, kindling the germ of mind in the “mindless men” and adding to them the flame of their own Manas.
Ages of Man
Ixtlilxochitl described the wandering of peoples of the western hemisphere in the four ages of the world. Following is Ixtilxochiti’s account.
The FIRST AGE came to its end in the Flood.
In the SECOND AGE, called “the sun of the earthquake,” there lived the generation of the giants, which was mostly destroyed in the cataclysm that terminated this age.
The THIRD AGE was “the sun of the wind,” called so because at the end of this period terrible hurricanes annihilated everything. The new inhabitants of the new world were Ulme and Xicalauca who came from the east to find a foothold at Potouchan: here they met a number of giants, the last survivors of the second catastrophe.
The FOURTH AGE was called “the fire sun,” because of the great fire that put an end to this epoch. At that time the Toltecs arrived in the land of Anahuac, put to flight by the catastrophe: they wandered for 104 years before they settled in their new home.
According to Greek Tradition we find reference to five ages of Man.
Cronus created the GOLDEN AGE. It was the happiest era for mankind, where people lived and died peacefully. There was no illness and no disease. They never suffer from hardship of war or toil of the earth. Foods were wild and plentiful. When they died they became spirits, becoming guardian of mankind. It was during this period that Man was first created. But when the new gods arrived, they began experimenting on the creation of mankind, creating a new age. Each succeeding age would be inferior from the last, from excellent to worse.
The SILVER AGE was inferior to the Golden Age. It was time when the gods destroy them, because they refused to honour them.
The third period was the BRONZE AGE, which was populated with brazen men, who loved war for its own sake, until they destroyed themselves in continuous warfare.
This was followed by the HEROIC AGE. A race of demigods, heroes who would find themselves rewarded for their courage and heroic feats, at their death, in the Isles of the Blessed (Elysium).
The last age was the IRON AGE. This was the worse age, where good will and decency would cease to exist. Men would suffer from great oppression by the wicked rulers. The rulers would only satisfy their own needs, because of their greed and thirst for power, until Zeus would destroy this race
The Titans were also the offspring of Uranus, but they were smaller in size and fairer in looks. Unlike their ugly brethren they weren’t imprisoned. Gaea was furious at the treatment of her earlier sons, so she appealed to her son, Cronus, youngest of the Titans, to overthrow her husband and his father. Cronus the Titan, came to power by overthrowing Uranus and castrating him where he could no longer father any more siblings. For a generation, the titans shared the world with Cronus as their leader. The Giants, offsprings of Uranus and Gaea, sprang out of the earth, when the blood of Uranus genitals landed on earth. These giants had tails of the serpents and were said to have lived in Phlegra, which could be either Thrace or Sicily. The gods learned that the only way they could defeat these creatures was through the aide of a mortal. They waited for centuries before they had a suitable hero to aide them in their battle against the giants. This hero was Hercules. To prevent the giants from attacking them before Heracles was born; they caused the sun not to shine in Phlegra. Eurymedon was their leader, while Alcyoneus and Porphyrion were the strongest among the giants.
The Titan Olympians
Cronus had a wife by the name of Rhea. TheIr offspring were the first of the Titan Olympians. Fearful of losing his position as Leader, Cronus ate each of the children as they were born. Rhae, his wife, tricked Cronus into swallowing a rock, instead of his/her Zeus. Zeus would later grow up and revolt against Cronus, conquering him and sending the Titans that fought on the side of Cronus to Tartarus in the underworld. Cronus managed to escape to Italy, where he ruled as Saturn. The period of his rule was said to be a Golden Age on earth. It was the Titan Olympians who created mankind. Prometheus, son of Iapetus (father of Atlas) was delegated by Zeus (son of Cronus) to create a man. He first moulded a form which could stand upright., When the form was completed, Prometheus gave man (Manus) the spark of intelligence , or the ability to think for himself (lighting up of Manus). Enraged because this made of man a God, which was not the plan of Zeus (Jupiter), he punished Prometheus by chaining him to a rock where he was to remain throughout eternity. However he was later rescued by Hercules.
War of the Titans and Olympians
After the war between the Titans and Olympians, Hades and his two brothers decided to divide the universe between them. Zeus receive the sky or Olympus, Poseidon became lord of the sea, while Hades ruled the Underworld. The Earth was shared by all, but Zeus became the supreme ruler of the universe.
Although Zeus and the Olympians defeated the Titans, they were faced with an even mightier foe, the Typhon. Gaea had conceived the new offspring from her brother Tartarus. Apollodorus described the Typhon as a gigantic winged monster that was part man and part beast, taller than the tallest mountain. Under Typhon’s arms there was a hundred dragon-heads. Below his thighs were massive coils of vipers. Typhon was a terribly horrifying sight and was deadly since flame would gush from his mouth.
When Typhon came and attacked the heaven, all the Olympians fled south to Egypt. The Olympians had transformed themselves into various animals to escape from the monster. Apollo had disguised himself into a crow, his sister Artemis into a cat, while Dionysus had changed into a goat, Hera into a snowy cow, Hermes into ibis, Aphrodite and Eros into fishes.
Only Zeus dared to confront Typhon. Zeus hurled his deadly thunderbolts, but as the monster drew closer, Zeus would attack Typhon with the sickle of adamantine. The Typhon fled to Mount Casion in Syria. Zeus seeing that the monster had being seriously wounded, he became over-confident. Typhon trapped Zeus in his massive coils, and with Zeus’ sickle, Typhon managed to cut the sinews and tendons of Zeus’ hands and had the god imprisoned in the cave. According to Apollodorus, Typhon had set a she-dragon Delphyne to guard this cave. Without his sinews, Zeus was helpless and could not wield the thunderbolts.
Hermes, Mercury, son of Zeus and Maia (a Pleiad of the Pleiades) and Aigipan had somehow retrieved the sinews and rescued Zeus. After Zeus was restored of his sinews, Zeus regained the use of the thunderbolts. Zeus wielded his mighty thunderbolts against Typhon, pursuing the monster to Sicily. Zeus defeated Typhon, and buried the monster under Mount Etna or the entire island of Sicily. The volcanic eruptions of Mount Etna were the result of Typhon’s spewing out his fire.
At the height of their civilization the Atlanteans were giants both in body and in intellect, and were greater scientists than those of the present day. For one thing, they had aeroplanes which were operated by solar force. Homer’s vessels “going without sails or oars” refers to them, as does the myth of Icarus, who was warned by his father Daedalus to fly “…nor low, nor high, / If low, thy plumes may flag the ocean’s spray, / If high, the sun may dart his fiery ray.“
Unfortunately for their own future, the Atlanteans turned their knowledge to negative and material uses. Many modern practices such as vivisection, blood transfusion, the transplanting of animal glands to human bodies – even the craze for personal wealth and power – in direct defiance of nature, The Atlanteans used their knowledge for warfare, which resulted in the catastrophic submergence of their continent which was felt around the worl;d as can be evidenced by the great deluge stories in all cultures.
Extermination of the Giants and the Goddess traditions
The Greeks preserved the tradition of the sinking of Atlantis in the myth of Deucalion. The legend says that after the fourth race had passed its apex of development, a change occurred in men. Modesty, truth and honor fled, and in their place came crime, fraud, cunning and the wicked love of gain.
Seeing the condition into which the earth had fallen, Jupiter determined to destroy it and form a new land where men would have fresh opportunities to live a virtuous life. So the waters came and covered the land, leaving only Mount Olympus above the waves. There Deucalion and his wife Pyrrha found shelter, and from them sprang the new, fifth race. This story was later mimicked by the Hebrew in the story of Noah and the Flood.
Thousands of years after, Solon, the great Athenian law-giver and one of the Seven Wise Men of Greece, visited Egypt and recounted the myth of Deucalion to one of the priests of Saïs. The priest assured Solon that it was the record of an actual historical event which had occurred. He told the Greek sage of the last of the Atlantean Islands, which he called Atlantis, but which was really the Island of Poseidonis, picturing in detail its high mountains, canals, bridges, and harbors filled with vessels from foreign ports. He gave a full account of the inhabitants of the island and their customs, describing in particular the laws of the country and the method of their enforcement. On his return to Athens Solon wrote down the tale in epic form, which Plato inherited repeating the story to Timaeus and Critias.
Long before the island of Poseidonis sank beneath the waves, one of the early sub-races of the Aryan stock descended from the high plateaux of Asia and emigrated to islands in the West. There they resided for some thousands of years, intermarrying with members of the last, or seventh sub-race of the Atlanteans. Ages later these people, called Atlantean Aeolians because of their long stay on the remnants of the lost continent, were to become the ancestors of the Greeks, for when some of the islands around Poseidonis showed signs of sinking, they had again to leave their homes.
They built a flotilla of arks and sailed through the Pillars of Hercules (the Straits of Gibraltar) into the Mediterranean Sea. Some of them colonized the coasts of Italy and Spain. Others went on into the Aegean Sea and settled on the Greek Isles and in Thessaly, to which they gave the name of Aeolia. The Atlantean Aeolians were, therefore, the “autochthones” of Greece, the forefathers of the Hellenes.
References to Giants
The People of Cain
Cain went to the land of Nod, and produced giants. They were smart educated, intelligent, builders, inventors and scientists and knew the art of metal. The Scripture says one of those giants had fourteen inch fingers. Now, your finger is just as long as your closed hand. Open it up; that would be a twenty-eight inch hand!
The God of Moses commanded Moses to exterminate the whole race of these people from the Land of Canaan whom He said would corrupt their morals and pervert their heart to paganism if they intermarried or made agreements with them. Here we find the two opposing gods, Enlil and Enki, in the war of the gods with the people of earth being caught right in the middle, being forced to take sides.
Captain Cook, Captain Magellan and the Giants
On his historic round the world trip, Captain Magellan made an interesting reference in his ship’s logbook. He mentioned a race of giants living on the Pacific coast of South America. But even a stranger event happened in this area. Captain Cooke wrote of actually capturing one of the giants and tying it to his ship’s mast. This human was reported to be over nine feet tall. The giant freed himself from the ropes, and was last seen when he dived overboard.
H.P. Blavatsky and The Secret Doctrine
The Secret Doctrine teaches that the Aryan nations of the present are in their fifth root-race. Hence the Aryan nations could trace their descent through the Atlanteans, who constituted the fourth root-race, from the more spiritual races of the Lemurians who preceded the Atlanteans, and in whom the “Sons of Wisdom” had personally incarnated. It is taught that with the advent of the divine Dynasties, the first civilizations were started. Under the guidance of their divine Rulers, the third-race built large cities, cultivated arts and sciences, and knew astronomy, architecture and mathematics to perfection. Such divine Dynasties among men were claimed by the Egyptians, Chaldeans, Greeks etc., as being those which preceded their human kings; they are still believed in by the modern Hindus, and are enumerated in their sacred books.
The primeval civilization, that of the Lemurians, did not, as one may think, immediately follow their physiological transformation (i.e., that of the separation of the sexes from the hermaphroditic condition which preceded). Between the final evolution and the first city built by the third-race Humanity, many hundred thousands of years had passed. We find the Lemurians in their sixth sub-race building their first rock-cities, out of stone and lava. One of such great cities of primitive structure was built entirely of lava, some thirty miles west from where Easter Island now stretches its narrow piece of sterile ground, and was entirely destroyed by a series of volcanic eruptions. The oldest remains of Cyclopean buildings were all the handiwork of the Lemurians of the last sub-races; and an occultist shows, therefore, no wonder on learning that the stone relics found on the small piece of land called Easter Island by Captain Cook, are “very much like the walls of the Temple of Pachacamac or the Ruins of Tia-Huanuco in Peru,” and that they are in the Cyclopean style. The first large cities appeared on that region of the continent which is now the island of Madagascar. It is further asserted that there were civilized people and savages in those days as there are now.
